What is Needed
Resources are needed for the many offices, commissions, councils and other organisations in the archdiocese to continue their work in key areas including education, evangelisation, families and youth. They work as many parts of one body, seeking to bring the light of Christ to every aspect of society. Notable organisations include the Archdiocesan Commission for Catholic Schools (ACCS), Office for the New Evangelisation (ONE), Office for Young People (OYP), and more.
On top of current operational costs, the archdiocese has infrastructural projects, building maintenance and land lease renewals, each of which runs into the millions. The major building project for the next 4 years is the Catholic Hub, designed as a key centre for the archdiocese’s activities.
Since the launch of GIFT on 27 November 2016 when Advent began, an estimated $50.2 million would have been collected by end November 2019.
In the last three and a half years, CF has funded about $46.2 million for the operations of several key archdiocesan organisations, the construction of two buildings (Bethany East and SFX Seminary Building) and several strategic projects and initiatives.
The funding needs over the next four years are estimated as below.
- For the period: 1 July 2016 to 31 December 2019 (numbers for the period up to 31 December 2018 are based on actuals, and for the last calendar year to 31 December 2019 are forecasted).
- For the period: 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2023.
