Our Risen Lord within the Storm

An appeal from Rev Msgr Philip Heng, S.J. to the Catholic Community in Singapore on 19 April 2020, 2nd Sunday of Easter (Divine Mercy Sunday)

Peace and Joy of the Risen Lord!

I write this note with a heavy heart of knowing that many of you are going through many challenges during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic outbreak that has launched our nation and the world into a crisis. Everyone is affected.

Our archdiocese too is weathering the storm. Our whole way of living our lives and our faith within this “storm” has posed painful challenges. Our true hope is to focus on our Risen Lord and to trust in His Merciful Love.

We need to unite and emerge stronger from this storm, trusting that our Merciful Risen Lord will never fail us, bestowing upon us the special graces we all need for our families and for our archdiocese during these trying times.

As we entrust our lives to our Risen Lord, may I also ask you to spend some moments today to ponder on how the Holy Spirit may be stirring within your hearts to support the many needs of our archdiocese. We have been facing great challenges in fundraising for these needs even before the COVID-19 crisis and the suspension of Mass.

Your generous support would be deeply appreciated; a regular pledge with GIFT would assure us of a more reliable source of funds for our archdiocese.

Listen to the Holy Spirit within… and with peace and joy do send us your support which would be deeply appreciated; for your consideration.

Be assured that His Grace, Archbishop William Goh and I will continue to pray specially for you and your family, and in the daily Mass we say. Take care.

God bless.

Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore
