Programmes and Events

As a rallying call for Catholics to support the archdiocese, GIFT depends heavily on the community and community-led initiatives.

Concerts

From 2017 to 2019, several fundraising concerts were organised various parish choirs to raise funds for the GIFT campaign:

  • DVC Youth Choir from Church of St Ignatius on 22 April 2017
  • Vox Cordis Chorus from Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour on 7 and 14 October 2017
  • Cor Novum Choir from Church of the Holy Family on 3 December 2017
  • Vita Voxa Choir from Archdiocese of Jakarta on 4 August 2018
  • Advent Choir from Church of the Holy Cross on 29 November 2019

These concerts were entirely conceptualised, planned and executed by the respective choirs, with the Catholic Foundation providing support in the collection of contributions and pledges made during the concerts.

Receptions

Catholic Foundation organises various luncheons and dinner receptions hosted by Archbishop William Goh.  These receptions provide an important platform for the leaders of the Church to share the vision and needs of the archdiocese with guests more intimately. At the dinner, for instance, several priests and representatives of key Catholic organisations joined the guests.

The events have also proved important in allowing the Archbishop to speak from his heart. He had urged guests during the dinner, “the most important reason why we give, is to share in the mission of Christ. All of us, without exception, every baptised Catholic and Christian, is called to share in the mission of the Church, in the mission of Christ.”

Angelico Art Award

The Angelico Art Award is a biennial thematic Christian art competition in Singapore that seeks to promote creative works through the integration of art and faith.

Its third run in October 2020, with the theme “I will recount all Your wonders” (Psalm 9:2), was organised by HeartSpace in support of Catholic Foundation. Fifty artworks were selected from over 200 entries for a scaled-down exhibition in November 2020.

The next award will be organised by Catholic Foundation, with the theme, “Joyful in hope” (Romans 12:12). For details, please visit the Angelico Art Award website.

The Angelico Art Award was first organised by Heartspace and Catholic Business Network in 2016.

FaithWorks

FaithWorks is a biennial Christian themed art exhibition that aims to promote awareness of the Catholic faith through art whilst fundraising for the needs of the Catholic Church in Singapore.

The inaugural exhibition was jointly organised by Heartspace and Catholic Foundation on 11 September 2019 in conjunction with the Catholic Foundation Dinner. Based on the theme “Joy and Peace”, it showcased 30 three-dimensional art pieces in various forms, such as sculptures, stained glass and ceramics, from 13 artists in Singapore.

Proceeds from a silent auction of the art pieces during the dinner were channeled to the Catholic Foundation.
