The GIFT (Giving in Faith and Thankfulness) campaign was launched in Advent 2016 to support the archdiocese’s vision of a more vibrant, evangelising and missionary Church. This quarterly report updates on the campaign’s progress.
The first quarter of 2022 (Jan to Mar) saw a stable $3 million in total contributions, in comparison with the $3.1 million received in the same period in 2021.
Ad hoc and restricted funds contributions fell in Q1 2022 compared to Q1 2021. However, the gradual easing of parish Mass booking restrictions resulted in the doubling of contributions through the parishes, a key partner in the Foundation’s appeal to the Catholic community to support the needs of the Archdiocese.
The number of pledges increased to 4,400 and contributed a total of $1.2 million in the first quarter. This thankfully continued to sustain the Archdiocese, showing that regular giving is the most sustainable way of supporting the pastoral vision.
As Singapore slowly emerges from the pandemic, many of our Church’s projects and initiatives that had to be put on hold can resume. Besides a much longed-for return to the Eucharist, the faithful can look forward to greater spiritual nourishment and a deeper level of faith. As such, the Foundation continues to seek the support of the faithful so that these projects and initiatives can come to fruition. One such project is the development of the Catholic Hub. Plans for the Hub have taken shape, and we are immensely grateful for the crucial financial support that has started to come in.
Our Church continues to find ways to strengthen communion and develop new ways of growth to match the needs of the ever-changing landscape of the Archdiocese. Thus, it is paramount to have a regular source of funding. Hence, the call for pledges continues to be a key fundraising strategy of the Foundation.
We are humbled by and are very grateful to our contributors who have answered the call to support the Church. We ask for your continued support and prayers as we work as one to build the Church today for tomorrow.
