GIFT Campaign Report (1 January 2023 – 31 March 2023)

The GIFT (Giving in Faith and Thankfulness) programme was launched in Advent 2016 to support the Archdiocese’s vision of a more vibrant, evangelising and missionary Church. This quarterly report provides updates on its progress for the first Quarter of 2023.

The first quarter (January to March) of 2023 saw a total of $3.8 million collected for the GIFT programme. This was an increase of about $800,000 as compared to the same period in 2022, mainly due to the support shown for the Catholic Hub.

In January 2023, Catholic Foundation launched the fundraising appeal for the Catholic Hub across the Archdiocese. The building project was featured as a special intent for all collections received for the GIFT programme in that month. We are immensely grateful for the crucial financial support that has started to come in, and are heartened by the positive response we received from the introductory video that was played in parishes.

In addition, with the removal of all Covid-19 restrictions in our churches and the gradual return to physical Masses, contributions through parishes increased as compared with the same period last year.

The call for regular giving continues to be a key fundraising strategy of the Foundation. We urge all Catholics to sign up for a pledge, the most sustainable source of funding for the Archdiocese.

The end to restrictions have allowed for the resumption of Masses, parish activities and Archdiocesan projects and programmes.

We are humbled by our contributors who have answered the call to support the Church. We ask for your continued support and prayers as we work as one to build the Church today for tomorrow.
